Chapter 1. A beautiful start
It was a beautiful morning when Don woke from a deep, restful sleep. It was one of those morning that feel like you can’t quite make it out of bed, you know you slept well, but you just can’t bring yourself to get up.
He tossed and turned for a while, but finally noticed the clock said 7:02 and knew he would never make it to work in time! It was only a 20 minute drive but in the Portland traffic 20 minutes turned into 1 hour. Dang, the second time he would be late in 2 years…. The accountant hated being late, more than he hated getting up….
"Good morning sleepy head" said Don’s charming wife Gail as he rushed into the kitchen, trying to finish buttoning his shirt. Gail could always tell when Don had been rushing getting ready for work… He always missed the whiskers on his upper right cheek. Something to do with his diminishing eye sight from staring at numbers all day… He also had the shaving cuts from a guy trying to hard to get the whiskers on the first swipe.
